Introduction

martijnschreuder — September 22, 2011 - 12:33

This standardization effort is part of a European research project named TOBI. It is meant to serve to the community as a platform for collaborative development of standards in BCI research. These standards are created to benefit users/providers of realtime bio-signal data hardware/software.

Our proposed standards consist of four parts.

  • Software interfaces
  • File format
  • Common terminology
  • Evaluation metrics

The first two standards are software standards that are defined on the conceptual, dynamical and the implementation level. The documents provided here should allow any software engineer to implement them into their software.

The second two standards target BCI research, by standardizing terminology and the evaluation metrics used for BCI.
